Here's some of what went home to participants of the Winter Session. WOW!
So....What Do You Get At
Little Bookworms?
Each week you can look forward to a well-crafted newsletter from me that outlines what we did in class that day, some of the research behind it, and ideas to help you extend your child's learning at home. Your child will also bring home some type of takeaway project from class that will help him/her speak to you about what we did in class that day. This could be a mini-book he made, a felt animal she constructed to help retell a story, or some other craft/activity. Finally, your child will come home each week with 1 or more games including any instructions and all the materials needed to play and enjoy it at home. That's a lot of stuff!! :)

What People Are Saying About Little Bookworms...
"I want to tell you that (my son) has learned more in the three weeks with you than he has all year. His reading has improved dramatically. We read a lot of books yesterday...and I was amazed. Thank you!!!!"
~Parent of a Kindergarten Little Bookworm
“Oh, my goodness! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it! My favorite part is, “strengthen oral language skills through listening
and expressive language activities that support vocabulary development, conversational skills, and fluency.” I wish all my Kindergartners would have had this part of your class. This is what every early learner needs!!”
~Early Childhood Teacher and Administrator
"I just wanted to let you know how enthusiastically (my child) has been sharing her experiences at Little
Bookworms! She loved how everyone was able to greet each other with a little wave or a stomp and loved sharing how
she can stretch out her words with the help of her little critter. She was nervous to get started and you've put her right at ease. Thanks for a great first day. She said she wishes she could go back every day. :)"
~Little Bookworm Mom
"Thank you for all your hard work. You can tell you put a lot of prep into your classes and both my husband and I
really appreciate the notes you prepare for parents for carry over at home."
~Parents of a Little Bookworm
"It is amazing how well you have gotten to know my son in such a short amount of time! You know more about him as a learner and more about what makes him tick than the teacher he's had all year...and it's only the third class! I especially like how you tailor your classes to reach each child. I will be telling everyone I know about Little Bookworms! Thank you!"
~Little Bookworm Dad
"My daughter LOVES playing the games with our whole family. Every Tuesday night she is so excited to share the new game with us after dinner, and she really is learning and having fun at the same time (so is her 3 year old brother!) She is so much more aware of letters and words and sees them wherever we go. We always read books to her but my husband and I are so thankful to be learning so much about literacy right along with her. Thank you for all of your hard work and enthusiasm!"
~Little Bookworms Family
"Where was Little Bookworms 3 years ago! I keep wishing that my son could have had something like this. Reading is so hard for him. Little Bookworms would have been perfect for him and for me! I had no idea how much went into reading. I wish I knew some of the ways I could have helped him and what I should have been looking for as he started school. Good luck and I'll spread the word!"
